We are looking for candidates who have a Bachelor's degree with 2-5 years of relevant experience, or equivalent background. The ideal applicant should have a minimum of 1–2 years working in IT operations, system administration, or network monitoring. A current DoD 8570 IAT Level II certification (e.g., Security CE, CySA, etc.) is also required. Hands-on experience with SolarWinds Orion modules (NPM, SAM, VMAN) is essential, along with a basic understanding of SNMP, WMI, and Windows Server environments. Familiarity with ServiceNow or similar ticketing systems, strong documentation, and communication skills are necessary. Candidates must be clearable up to an active Secret clearance.
Responsibilities
As a SolarWinds Administrator, you will play a crucial role in our IT Operations / Monitoring team, ensuring the smooth operation and security of essential IT systems. Your tasks will involve executing SOP-driven actions within the SolarWinds Orion platform for seamless enterprise monitoring. You will be responsible for monitoring SolarWinds dashboards for alerts and performance issues, acknowledging alerts, documenting initial findings, and conducting basic checks such as ping, RDP, and SNMP/WMI status. Escalation of issues will be based on defined SOP thresholds using ServiceNow or similar tools. You will ensure that monitored nodes are correctly grouped and labeled, updating device notes for visibility. During maintenance windows, you will manage alert statuses and apply approved monitoring templates as per service requests. Additionally, you will be involved in adding/removing devices using onboarding procedures and maintaining accurate shift logs and incident summaries.
