Requirements
Must:
- Minimum of 9 years of overall experience in IT support
- At least 5 years specifically in systems administration, demonstrating the ability to manage and maintain complex IT infrastructures
- Strong knowledge of operating systems such as Windows Server and Linux
- Proficiency in server hardware, virtualization technologies like VMware and Hyper-V, and networking
- Skilled in scripting and automation tools like PowerShell and Bash
- Familiarity with system security best practices and hardening techniques
- Experience diagnosing and addressing hardware and software issues
- Understanding of IT Service Management (ITSM) principles
- Excellent analytical and problem-solving capabilities
- Ability to identify root causes of issues and implement solutions
- Experience troubleshooting complex technical problems
- Must possess or obtain DoD 8570.01-M IAT Level II certification within 6 months of hire
- Advanced familiarity with operating systems, server hardware, virtualization platforms, network infrastructure, and security protocols
- Top Secret clearance required
Responsibilities
- Oversee the maintenance, configuration, and steady operation of intricate computer systems, network servers, and virtualization technologies, including those in critical security environments
- Install, configure, and upgrade complex systems and software to ensure peak performance and security
- Resolve intricate hardware and software issues using advanced diagnostic tools
- Create and sustain comprehensive system documentation, including configuration manuals and disaster recovery plans
- Spearhead the implementation of automation procedures to enhance IT operations
- Mentor mid-level Systems Administrators to nurture their skills and professional growth
- Assist in planning and executing IT infrastructure projects, ensuring they align with organizational goals and industry standards
- Provide guidance and mentorship to junior staff
