Senior System Administrator - Back End Night Shift

- Serve as a primary technical expert within the Information Technology Operations Center (ITOC), a facility ensuring continuous availability, performance, and security of critical IT systems - Manage, maintain, and enhance enterprise servers, operating systems (Windows and Linux), and essential applications in a demanding 24/7 environment - Administer and optimize virtualization platforms, including VMware and Hyper-V, for high availability and efficient resource use - Oversee and maintain systems such as Active Directory, Group Policy, DNS, DHCP, and identity/access management - Utilize system monitoring tools to assess system health, performance metrics, security events, and capacity trends - Implement enterprise security policies, DISA STIGs, and industry best practices for compliance and protection of sensitive data - Troubleshoot complex infrastructure challenges related to server performance, OS problems, virtualization environments, and enterprise applications - Develop and maintain automation scripts to improve operational efficiency and service delivery - Create and preserve system documentation, SOPs, and configuration baselines to ensure continuity throughout 24/7 shifts - Collaborate with cross-functional teams—including network and cybersecurity—to resolve enterprise issues, enhancing overall system reliability - Provide senior-level guidance and support for junior and mid-level administrators - Perform shift work to align with ITOCs operational mission, including nights, weekends, and rotating schedules as necessary
