Requirements
Must:
- High School diploma with 6 - 9 years of relevant experience or equivalent
- TS/SCI clearance required
- Security+ or equivalent DoD 8570/8140 certification
- Cisco Certified Network Associate (CCNA) certification
- Linux Red Hat Certified Systems Administrator (RHCSA) certification
- Strong background in:
- Enterprise networking (routing, switching, troubleshooting)
- Linux (preferably RHEL) and Windows Server systems
- Network monitoring and troubleshooting tools
- Proven experience with Cisco technologies (routing, switching, CUCM, VoIP)
- Practical experience with encryption systems and secure communications technologies
- Experience within tactical, SATCOM, or forward-deployed communications environments
- Proficiency in scripting or automation tools (e.g., Python, Bash, Ansible/AWX)
Responsibilities
- Oversee and maintain operational integrity of enterprise and tactical networks around the clock
- Quickly diagnose and address complex issues related to networks, systems, and communications across various environments
- Conduct root cause analysis and take preventive measures to avoid future occurrences
- Provide real-time assistance for urgent operational needs, including support outside regular hours
- Build, configure, and maintain network nodes from ground up, including:
- Firmware and software upgrades
- Secure configuration baselines
- Tunnel creation and verification
- Analyze network performance and optimize settings for enhanced throughput, reliability, and resilience
- Identify configuration issues and collaborate with engineering and automation teams for solutions
- Support RHEL-based systems and virtualization platforms (e.g., Cockpit, VM management tools)
- Assist in provisioning bare-metal systems and automate processes alongside engineering teams
- Utilize tools such as AWX, Nautobot, and automation frameworks to improve operational effectiveness
- Manage Cisco Call Manager (CUCM) environments:
- Set up end-user devices, phone numbers, and SIP integrations
- Configure and resolve issues with VTC systems
- Maintain encryption devices and secure communications systems, including:
- Performing firmware updates and key management
- Diagnosing critical communication failures in mission-critical situations
- Provide technical support for SATCOM and RF-based systems, including establishing links and conducting diagnostics
- Deliver direct, hands-on support for customers in both garrison and forward-deployed settings
- Offer remote troubleshooting advice to field teams for quick restoration of communications
- Ensure systems are operationally ready and adhere to installation timelines
- Employ enterprise tools for network health monitoring, including:
- Splunk for log analysis
- ServiceNow for incident tracking
- IPAM/Nautobot for device and network management
- Keep detailed technical documentation, SOPs, and how-to guides updated in platforms like Confluence and GitLab
- Mentor junior NOC personnel and provide cross-team technical guidance
