Requirements
Must:
- High School diploma with CCIE (Data Center) certification and 5 years of relevant Data Center operational expertise OR CCNP (Data Center) certification with 10 years of relevant Data Center operational expertise.
- Proven experience in mentoring network operations engineers regarding current and emerging technologies, agile IT, ITIL, and continuous improvement methodologies.
- Must have the ability to obtain and maintain a Public Trust clearance.
Responsibilities
- Assist the Operations Section Manager with personnel administration, strategic planning, and staff allocation; collaborate with the Service Delivery Team, Architecture Team, and Security Team.
- Guide network operations engineers in applying current and emerging technologies as well as agile practices and ITIL methodologies.
- Participate in shift lead responsibilities to act as queue managers, ensuring escalated issues are promptly assigned and worked on to fulfill SLAs.
- Collaborate with Sections to establish baselines for Data Center and Colocation systems utilizing discovery tools like ScienceLogic.
- Communicate with system owners to clarify services provided, refresh support documentation, and evaluate if hosted systems can be retired to reclaim resources such as space, power, and cooling.
- Actively monitor growth trends of hosted systems, like the Biowulf supercomputer, and work with Network Architecture and system owners to recommend adjustments for resource capacity planning to guarantee resource availability.
