Requirements

Must:
- A Bachelor’s degree with a minimum of 12 years of experience in cybersecurity, or a similar level of experience. - Must be capable of maintaining an active Secret clearance. - More than 10 years of experience in cybersecurity engineering, Risk Management Framework (RMF), or information assurance functions. - Demonstrated experience in one or more of the following technical areas: - Cloud and virtualized systems (e.g., AWS GovCloud, Azure Government) - Virtual workspace platforms (e.g., VDI, Citrix, VMware Horizon) - Software Factory/DevSecOps environments (e.g., GitLab, Jenkins) - Identity, Credential, and Access Management (ICAM) solutions (e.g., PIV/CAC, MFA) - Network security and management (e.g., WAN/LAN, firewalls) - Continuous monitoring systems (e.g., MECM, SolarWinds) - Physical data center systems and security. - Familiarity with NIST SP 800-37, 800-53, 800-171, and FIPS 199/200. - Knowledge of DoD RMF policies and cybersecurity directives, FISMA, FedRAMP, and Zero Trust principles. - Strong collaboration skills to work with engineers, administrators, and leadership for compliance documentation. - Effective written communication and presentation abilities. - Relevant certifications such as CCISO, CISM, or CISSP are preferred.

Responsibilities

In this position, I will merge compliance with technology, ensuring our Coast Guard systems comply with cybersecurity and accreditation requirements per DoD RMF and NIST SP 800-series guidelines. I will actively collaborate with engineers and administrators to integrate security into our operations and designs. My key responsibilities will include: - Supporting the RMF lifecycle, which encompasses categorization, control selection, evaluation, and authorization. - Developing and maintaining essential documentation, including System Security Plans (SSPs) and Security Assessment Reports (SARs). - Working with infrastructure, DevSecOps, and cloud engineering teams to implement security controls in virtual and containerized environments. - Assessing compliance for FedRAMP DoD IL2/4/5/6 and other cloud baselines. - Participating in technical design evaluations to ensure alignment with RMF, Zero Trust, and ICAM principles. - Aiding in the implementation and continuous monitoring of security controls within various cloud environments, such as Microsoft Azure Government and AWS GovCloud. - Analyzing and addressing vulnerabilities found through automated scans. - Collaborating with product managers for proactive security compliance and ongoing security engineering oversight. - Coordinating with ISSOs, system owners, and Authorizing Officials (AOs) to ensure the retention of Authority to Operate (ATO) status and timely remediation of issues. - Facilitating approvals for network interconnections through the necessary documentation. - Supporting product teams in preparing for and responding to JFHQ-DoDIN Cyber Operational Readiness Assessments (CORAs). - Leading the ISSE team in a manner that translates the security requirements of all products into appropriate FISMA boundaries and systems.
