Requirements
Must:
- Bachelor’s degree in Information Technology, Electrical/Mechanical Engineering, or a relevant field along with 8+ years of experience (or equivalent)
- In-depth understanding of UPS systems, power distribution, and electrical safety regulations
- Strong leadership qualities, adept problem-solving, and decision-making abilities under pressure
- Skilled in copper and fiber optic cabling installation and testing
- Capability to manage complex projects and coordinate with cross-departmental teams
- Physical ability to lift up to 50 lbs and work in challenging environments
- Willingness to work non-standard hours, including weekends and participating in on-call rotations
- Must be able to obtain an active Secret clearance
Responsibilities
- Oversee all facets of data center operations, ensuring optimal availability, reliability, and adherence to federal regulations
- Execute proactive monitoring practices, assess performance trends, and mitigate potential risks to mission-critical systems
- Offer expert advice on intricate hardware setups, structured cabling, and power systems; ensure designs comply with best practices
- Create and enhance operational processes, implement automation tools, and advocate for efficiency improvements throughout the facility
- Implement strict access control protocols, conduct audits, and guarantee compliance with federal security and safety standards
- Lead outage recovery initiatives, perform root cause analysis, and enforce corrective measures to avoid future issues
- Anticipate resource requirements, manage equipment lifecycle, and guarantee scalability for future mission demands
- Mentor and train junior technicians, promoting a culture of technical excellence and ongoing education
- Maintain thorough documentation of equipment status, maintenance activities, and configuration updates within DCIM systems
