Requirements
Must:
- Bachelors degree in Cybersecurity, Information Assurance, or Information Security, or relevant experience equivalent to 12 years
- Ability to lead discussions and support CISO decisions effectively
- Proven experience as a SOC lead or Senior Team member with managed security service providers (MSSP)
- Strong background in incident response (IR), incident handling (IH), and vulnerability management (VM)
- Expertise in evaluating current cybersecurity tactics and their impact on security configurations
- Demonstrated skills in providing cybersecurity hygiene and posture assessments
- Experience in incident response support and conducting forensics analysis
- Proficient in log-based and endpoint-based threat detection strategies
- Solid knowledge of security implementation techniques in web services and cloud platforms (Azure, M365)
- Familiarity with securing web technologies and conducting evaluations using commercial or open-source tools
- Near expertise in executing continuous monitoring and remediation programs using various security tools
- Strong understanding of security operation center (SOC) principles and incident management practices
- Ability to promote best security practices while collaborating with different teams
- Must be able to obtain an EEOC Public Trust clearance
- Preferred certifications: CISSP, OSCP, GCIH, GPEN, GSEC, GCIA, among others
Responsibilities
- Act as Lead Information Technology Specialist (INFOSEC) and oversee Cybersecurity Operations (SECOPS)
- Contribute to the Agencys IT Security Program and manage SECOPS activities
- Advise and assist the Chief Information Security Officer (CISO) on cybersecurity developments and emerging threats
- Support the development and introduction of agency-level cybersecurity policies and procedural documentation
- Lead the Cybersecurity Operations cell, influencing critical agency operations impacting the mission
- Manage incident handling and response efforts, ensuring timely execution of security measures
- Facilitate and coordinate cybersecurity operations to support the Information Security Program
- Provide accurate reporting on Security Operations Center (SOC) metrics and recommend improvements
- Serve as the advisory authority on threat, vulnerability, and configuration management
- Equip agency staff with threat product recommendations and insights on attack trends
- Collaborate with technical teams to foster the adoption of security best practices
