Requirements
Must:
- Bachelors degree with 5 to 8 years of experience in system administration or a related field.
- At least 5-8 years of hands-on experience in system administration or related roles.
- Current DoD 8570 IAT Level II certification (e.g., Security+ CE, CySA+).
- Expertise in managing and maintaining Windows and Linux servers, operating systems, and enterprise applications.
- Strong understanding of virtualization technologies, such as VMware and Hyper-V, and system security best practices.
- Practical experience with system monitoring tools (e.g., SolarWinds) and troubleshooting techniques.
- Proficiency in scripting languages, including PowerShell and Bash, for task automation.
- Ability to work effectively in a 24/7 operational environment, including willingness to perform shift work.
- Excellent communication and teamwork abilities to collaborate seamlessly within a dynamic team.
- Active Secret clearance is required.
Responsibilities
- Oversee, maintain, and enhance server performance, operating systems (Windows and Linux), and enterprise applications in a high-demand 24/7 environment.
- Manage virtualization technologies like VMware and Hyper-V to optimize resource use and ensure system availability.
- Administer Active Directory, Group Policy, and user permissions to uphold security and operational efficiency.
- Utilize system monitoring tools such as SolarWinds to proactively track system health and security threats.
- Implement and uphold rigorous system security measures and industry standards to safeguard sensitive information.
- Engage in detailed troubleshooting for intricate system issues tied to server functionality, operating systems, and enterprise applications.
- Automate routine processes using scripting languages like PowerShell and Bash to enhance operational productivity.
- Collaborate with internal teams and stakeholders to facilitate the smooth integration of IT services.
- Maintain availability for shift work as demanded by the 24/7 operational requirements of the Information Technology Operations Center (ITOC).
