Requirements

Must:
We are looking for candidates who possess the following qualifications: - A Bachelor's degree with 2-5 years of related experience in network administration. - Current DoD 8570 IAT Level II certification (e.g., Security+ CE, CySA+, CCNA Security). - Fundamental skills in configuring and managing networking devices such as routers and switches. - Basic understanding of TCP/IP protocols, VLAN management, and core routing and switching concepts. - Hands-on experience with network monitoring and troubleshooting tools (e.g., Wireshark, SolarWinds). - Strong knowledge of network security protocols and best practices. - Ability to work effectively in a 24/7 operational setting, including availability for shift work. - While a relevant associate's or bachelor's degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, or a related field is desirable, we will consider equivalent experience in lieu of a degree. - Must be able to maintain an active Secret clearance.

Responsibilities

As a Junior Network Administrator, you will be a vital part of our Information Technology Operations Center (ITOC). Your primary responsibilities will include: - Assisting with the management and maintenance of network systems in a fast-paced 24/7 operational environment to guarantee the high availability and security of critical IT infrastructure. - Supporting the configuration and management of various network devices, including routers and switches. - Using network monitoring and analysis tools, such as Wireshark and SolarWinds, to proactively observe performance, identify potential issues, and assist in quick resolution efforts. - Adhering to and enforcing strict network security protocols and industry best practices to safeguard sensitive information and systems. - Conducting initial troubleshooting for common network issues related to TCP/IP protocols and VLAN management and escalating more complex issues as necessary. - Collaborating effectively with internal teams and stakeholders to ensure smooth integration of network services and operational efficiency. - Being available for shift work as required by the demands of the 24/7 operational needs of the ITOC.

Posted Pay Range: The anticipated salary range for this position is USD $61,850.00 - USD $83,000.00 per year, depending on various factors including market location, job-related knowledge, skills, education, experience, and internal equity.
