Requirements
Must:
- Bachelors degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related discipline with 5-8 years of equivalent experience
- 3-5 years of direct involvement with Microsoft Remote Desktop Services
- Demonstrated hands-on expertise in upgrading RDS environments from Windows Server 2012 to Windows Server 2019
- Extensive Windows Server administration experience (2012, 2016, 2019)
- Proficient in managing Active Directory, Group Policy, DNS, and other key Windows services
- Familiar with virtualization technologies like VMware vSphere or Microsoft Hyper-V
- Strong scripting capabilities, especially with PowerShell for automation and administration
- Experience with sequencing, publishing, and maintaining App-V applications as remote applications
- Eligibility to obtain and retain a Secret level clearance
- Flexibility to work in a hybrid model (1-3 days on-site weekly)
- Currently hold a Network+ certification or equivalent certification
Responsibilities
- Design, architect, implement, and uphold a highly available and scalable Microsoft RDS infrastructure
- Lead the migration and upgrade process of our current Windows RDS environment from Windows Server 2012 to Windows Server 2019
- Oversee all components of the RDS environment, including RD Connection Broker, RD Gateway, RD Web Access, and RD Session Host
- Configure and manage high availability for RDS roles to guarantee uninterrupted user connectivity
- Diagnose and resolve complex issues related to the RDS environment, including connectivity, performance, and application delivery
- Administer and support the foundational Windows Server infrastructure, including Active Directory, Group Policy, DNS, and DHCP
- Create and maintain automation scripts using PowerShell to enhance administrative tasks and deployments
- Implement and uphold security best practices for the RDS and Windows Server environment, including patch management, hardening, and certificate management
- Develop and preserve comprehensive documentation for system configurations, procedures, and troubleshooting guides
- Collaborate with other IT teams to ensure smooth integration of the RDS infrastructure with various systems and applications
- Provide Level 3 technical support and function as a subject matter expert regarding all aspects of RDS
