Requirements
Must:
- High School diploma with 9+ years of relevant experience or equivalent
- TS/SCI clearance required
- Minimum 9 years of experience in IT support or a similar capacity
- Strong interpersonal and professional communication skills, both oral and written
- Ability to work autonomously, prioritize tasks, and deliver exceptional customer service
- Experience managing multiple responsibilities and deadlines in a dynamic environment
- DoD 8140 certification Information Assurance Technical (IAT) Level II (CompTIA Security+ or equivalent)
- Extensive experience with enterprise Linux distributions (RHEL preferred)
- Familiarity with configuration management tools (Ansible preferred)
- In-depth knowledge of networking principles (DNS, TCP/IP, firewalls)
- Experience with system monitoring tools
- Strong understanding of security best practices and system hardening techniques
- Knowledge of compliance frameworks (STIGs, NIST), particularly in government settings
Responsibilities
- Oversee and sustain Linux-based systems and servers
- Perform installation, configuration, updates, and hardening of Linux operating systems and software
- Collaborate with other system administrators to ensure system security through appropriate measures like firewalls and intrusion detection systems
- Regularly implement security patches
- Maintain comprehensive system documentation, including configurations, procedures, and troubleshooting steps
- Stay informed about the latest developments in Linux, vulnerabilities, and emerging technologies
- Assist in planning and conducting infrastructure projects, including server migrations and upgrades
