Requirements
Must:
- Bachelors degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field, or equivalent experience.
- Minimum of 10 years of experience in IT Asset Management, IT Operations, or IT Service Management.
- Active Secret clearance.
- Practical experience with ServiceNow, especially in ITAM modules.
- Strong understanding of IT asset lifecycle concepts and data management practices.
- Exceptional attention to detail and commitment to data accuracy.
- Proven ability to adhere to established processes and maintain thorough documentation.
- Strong written and oral communication skills.
- Preferred experience with the United States Coast Guard or prior DOD work.
- Familiarity with ServiceNow Hardware Asset Management (HAM).
- Experience with asset discovery or inventory tools.
- Understanding of ITIL principles or ITSM methodologies.
- ServiceNow or ITIL certification(s) are advantageous.
- Experience collaborating with government leadership or senior military officials.
Responsibilities
- Maintain comprehensive records of hardware and software assets throughout their lifecycle.
- Assist in the intake process of assets including receiving, assignment, and deployment updates.
- Update asset status, ownership, and location changes in ServiceNow as needed.
- Perform daily updates in ServiceNow’s Hardware Asset Management (HAM) and Software Asset Management (SAM) modules.
- Ensure asset records are accurate, coherent, and comply with established data standards.
- Support workflow execution for asset requests, relocations, and returns.
- Validate asset discovery and facilitate reconciliation processes.
- Identify and report discrepancies such as missing, duplicate, or incorrectly assigned assets.
- Assist in the clean-up of incomplete or erroneous asset records.
- Support both physical and virtual inventory initiatives, including comprehensive or targeted inventories.
- Prepare for audits by validating asset records and providing necessary documentation.
- Adhere to ITAM controls, Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs), and governance protocols.
- Generate standard reports concerning asset inventory, lifecycle status, and compliance.
- Track and report on asset management tasks and any exceptions.
- Contribute to data quality projects aimed at enhancing the accuracy and completeness of asset records.
- Collaborate with the service desk and IT support teams to resolve asset-related challenges.
- Coordinate with logistics teams regarding asset receipt, shipping, and disposal.
- Provide basic guidance to end-users on the asset assignment and return procedures.
