Must:
We require candidates to have a Bachelor's degree with 0 - 2 years of relevant experience (or equivalent experience). A SECRET security clearance is also necessary. Ideally, you should have at least five years of experience with Microsoft Access and SQL Server databases, as well as experience managing government budgets. Familiarity with Navy-ERP and the Defense Travel System (DTS) is preferred.

Responsibilities

As a Database Administrator, I will oversee the implementation and upkeep of the smooth functioning and physical structure of our databases. This includes performance tuning for indexes and databases overall, reviewing database layouts, integrating systems, ensuring backup and recovery operations, and recommending enhancements or improvements. I will uphold security and integrity measures, establish policies and procedures related to database management, and monitor transaction activities. Furthermore, my role will involve administering various database systems, including Microsoft SQL Server and other Database Management Systems. I will enforce database administration standards, conduct audits, and modify or amend data within systems utilizing SQL commands. I will also manage the scheduling of database projects, oversee database and transaction log backups, and facilitate replication across multiple SQL Servers and remote locations. Assisting Database Designers and Information System Analysts in developing SQL and web-based databases will also be part of my responsibilities. Lastly, I will review technical designs and documentation, create comprehensive reporting systems using tools like Crystal Reports, and explore and implement new database and online technologies.
