Requirements

Must:
- Clearance Required: TS/SCI - Previous experience with Risk Management Framework (RMF) as a Cyberspace Information Security Officer (CISO) - Strong grasp of Information System Security Engineering principles based on NIST SP 800-160 - Ability to evaluate various IT and Cybersecurity products objectively to choose the best tools depending on product features, existing policies, and client needs - Experience in drafting and reviewing governance documentation within a DoD or Intelligence Community setting - In-depth knowledge of DoD Cybersecurity Reference Architecture - Familiarity with aspects of application security, network security, cloud security, endpoint security, identity and access management, and governance in a DoD or Intelligence Community framework - Military or government experience in operations and intelligence - Profound understanding of military operations, intelligence gathering (e.g., all-source, OSINT), and decision-making procedures - Familiarity with the structures and policies of DoD, Intelligence Community, and interagency - Robust problem-solving, data analysis, and critical thinking skills - Experience with process modeling and business intelligence tools (e.g., Power BI, Tableau) - Knowledge of standard intelligence analysis tools and methodologies - Excellent written and verbal communication, team collaboration, and stakeholder management capabilities - Preferred: Experience with Zero-Trust Architecture in a DoD or Intelligence Community capacity - Familiarity with processes concerning vendor and in-house developed applications.

Responsibilities

- Provide strategic insight, technical direction, and domain expertise across our security initiatives - Advise both executive and technical leadership on cybersecurity strategies, emerging threats, and industry best practices - Convert intricate security concepts into practical recommendations for all stakeholders, both technical and non-technical - Shape and influence enterprise security policies, standards, and governance frameworks - Offer deep expertise in areas including network security, cloud security, identity and access management, incident response, threat intelligence, and vulnerability management - Lead or assist in complex security assessments, architecture evaluations, and system hardening projects - Evaluate and propose security technologies, tools, and platforms - Act as a senior escalation point during significant security incidents - Guide root-cause evaluations, containment strategies, and long-term remediation plans - Analyze threat trends and proactively identify organizational risks - Aid compliance initiatives across frameworks like NIST CSF, NIST 800-53, ISO 27001, CIS Controls, PCI-DSS, or FedRAMP (as appropriate) - Execute risk assessments and provide expert advice on mitigation strategies - Ensure synchronization between security measures and business goals - Collaborate with engineering, IT, DevOps, and product teams to integrate security within design and development lifecycles - Mentor junior security personnel and contribute to internal knowledge-sharing efforts - Represent the security function in cross-functional collaboratives and external engagements.
