Requirements

Must:
- Bachelors degree with 5-8 years of relevant experience - Preferred 3+ years as a Technical Writer in a software development setting - Proficient in Microsoft Word with advanced skills in formatting and document automation - Strong knowledge of Microsoft Office tools including Excel, PowerPoint, and Visio - Proven ability to simplify complex technical concepts into clear language for various audiences - Familiarity with software development lifecycle methodologies (Agile, Waterfall, Scrum) - Excellent attention to detail, organizational skills, and ability to juggle multiple projects - Self-driven with the capacity to work both independently and in a team-oriented environment - Clearance required: Secret with eligibility for Top-Secret clearance - Experience with DCSA, DoD, or federal security agencies (preferred) - Knowledge of RPA tools and compliance standards - Familiarity with documentation tools like Confluence and SharePoint and version control systems (Git)

Responsibilities

- Develop, revise, and maintain a thorough library of software documentation including design documents, user guides, process documents, API references, and release notes - Work in close collaboration with software engineers, product managers, and QA teams to gather and document technical specifications - Craft clear and concise technical documents that cater to different target audiences, including developers, testers, and stakeholders - Maintain consistency, version control, and traceability in all documentation assets - Utilize best practices in technical writing using standardized templates, style guides, and structured approaches - Edit, proofread, and finalize documents harnessing advanced features of Microsoft Word - Manage document repositories and implement version control measures to keep documentation up-to-date throughout the development lifecycle - Engage in peer reviews to solicit feedback and enhance the quality and usability of documents - Create visual aids such as diagrams and flowcharts to support understanding where applicable
