Requirements
Must:
- High School diploma with 9+ years of relevant experience or equivalent
- At least 9 years of overall experience, with 5 years specifically in systems administration
- Proven ability to manage and sustain intricate IT infrastructures
- Strong familiarity with operating systems such as Windows Server and Linux
- Extensive knowledge in server hardware, virtualization technologies (e.g., VMware, Hyper-V), and network infrastructures
- Proficient in scripting and automation tools like PowerShell and Bash
- Understanding of system security best practices and hardening techniques
- Experience in troubleshooting hardware and software challenges
- Familiarity with IT Service Management (ITSM) principles and methodologies
- Advanced analytical skills for diagnosing and resolving system issues
- Capability to determine root causes and implement effective solutions
- Requirement to obtain a DoD 8570.01-M IAT Level II certification within 6 months of hire
- Clearance required: Top Secret
Responsibilities
- Oversee the upkeep, configuration, and dependable operation of sophisticated computer systems, network servers, and virtualization technologies, particularly in sensitive environments
- Install, configure, and upgrade complex systems and software to ensure peak performance, security, and availability
- Diagnose and address intricate hardware and software failures using advanced diagnostic tools and techniques
- Create and sustain comprehensive system documentation, including configuration guides, troubleshooting procedures, and disaster recovery plans
- Spearhead the development of automation processes to enhance IT operations and boost efficiency
- Mentor and provide direction to mid-level systems administrators, encouraging their professional growth and technical skills
- Participate in the planning and execution of IT infrastructure projects to ensure alignment with organizational requirements and industry standards
- Guide and support subordinate staff members
