Requirements
Must:
- Bachelors degree in a technical discipline or equivalent hands-on experience.
- At least 8 years in data center operations or related operational roles in other industries (e.g., power generation, HVAC, manufacturing, military, oil and gas, maritime, or chemical sectors).
- A minimum of 5 years managing technical teams and vendors responsible for the operation, maintenance, and troubleshooting of electrical, mechanical, and control systems.
- Preferred: Masters degree in Engineering or a comparable technical field.
- Preferred: Experience collaborating with multiple business units to achieve company objectives and standards.
- Preferred: Familiarity with electrical and mechanical systems within a data center setting.
- Preferred: Strong people management and leadership abilities, with a capacity to work collaboratively at all organizational levels.
Responsibilities
- Oversee compliance activities for data centers and evaluate compliance outcomes on a global scale. Ensure regional and global teams adhere to project timelines and Google design specifications.
- Monitor operations of data center systems, manage site activities to mitigate risks, and ensure appropriate responses to any incidents.
- Ensure facilities are adhering to maintenance and standard programs worldwide while actively enhancing these policies.
- Devise strategies to minimize operational costs, boost efficiency, and lessen environmental impact at sites while managing the local development of programs and initiatives.
- Utilize expertise to propose improvements in data center designs, optimizing equipment and operations for the next generation of data centers.
