Requirements

Must:
- Bachelors degree in English, Technical Communication, Computer Science, or a related discipline. - At least 5 years of experience in technical writing, ideally within a government or technology context. - Proficient in MS Word, Google Docs, Confluence, or equivalent documentation tools. - Skilled in Adobe Acrobat, SnagIT, or comparable visual documentation tools. - Experience with Git or similar version control systems at the contributor or read-only level, and documentation platforms such as GitBook. - Knowledge of Scrum/Agile methodologies. - Familiarity with REST APIs, JSON, and software architecture concepts. - Capability to comprehend code snippets. - Outstanding written and verbal communication skills, with a strong focus on clarity and detail. - Proficient in creating, editing, and managing technical documentation including manuals, user guides, and standard operating procedures. - Able to conduct interviews with subject matter experts (SMEs) to simplify complex information. - Experience with government documentation standards and accessibility compliance is highly desired. - Familiarity with diagramming tools such as Lucidchart or Draw.io is also highly desired. - Basic knowledge of programming languages or IT systems is preferred. - Experience in UX writing is a plus. - Understanding of programming languages, such as Markdown and HTML/CSS, is encouraged. - Previous experience writing for software products (SaaS, desktop, or mobile) is highly desirable.
