Senior Applications Engineer - Aerospace

- Lead and coordinate the preparation of project estimates and written quotations, consistently aligning with bid schedules and sales goals - Facilitate technical and administrative support within the Applications Engineering team while collaborating across Sales, Engineering, Project Management, and other departments - Develop and maintain documented design standards and estimating procedures, including labor and material guidelines - Ensure conceptual designs comply with customer specifications, aerospace standards, and profitability targets - Oversee Aerospace and Government projects throughout the pre-sale phase, strictly following contractual specifications - Drive profitability through strategic vendor sourcing and evaluate subcontractor options while advising on build versus buy decisions - Identify cost-saving alternative solutions that uphold customer satisfaction and project scope integrity - Provide training and mentorship to team members to enhance efficiency and technical performance - Exhibit strong technical knowledge in HVAC fundamentals, including boilers and chillers - Support scope definition and technical alignment across mechanical engineering, structural, electrical, controls/programming, and mechanical design efforts - Promote continuous improvement across the department and within cross-functional teams to enhance customer service and operational efficiency - Assist in custom product estimating and quoting initiatives within the Industrial Business Unit
