Requirements

Must:
- Bachelors degree in a relevant field or equivalent experience - Over 5 years of pertinent experience, with at least 3 years in a supervisory role - Certified Information Systems Security Professional (CISSP) and GIAC Certified Incident Handler (GCIH) are preferred - Strong communication skills with the ability to troubleshoot and resolve complex problems - Knowledge of automated triage, enrichment, alert suppression, and response orchestration - Proven experience in transforming a traditional SOC into a risk-based or Fusion SOC - Familiarity with operational frameworks like Lean, Six Sigma, ITIL, or ITSM - Strong understanding of ASM, CEM, SIEM, XDR, SOAR, and detection engineering concepts

Responsibilities

- Develop and enforce cybersecurity policies and protocols to safeguard the institutions information systems and sensitive data - Lead a cybersecurity team in monitoring network activities and identifying potential security threats - Conduct security assessments and audits to evaluate existing measures and suggest improvements - Oversee incident response efforts, coordinating investigations and implementing risk mitigation plans - Facilitate training and awareness programs on cybersecurity for faculty, staff, and students - Stay updated on emerging cybersecurity threats and adapt strategies accordingly - Collaborate with external partners and regulatory bodies to ensure compliance with relevant laws and standards - Prepare and present cybersecurity metric reports and initiatives to senior leadership - Work alongside IT and academic departments to ensure technology initiatives conform to cybersecurity standards - Perform additional duties as assigned
