Requirements
Must:
- Completion of an associates degree in a relevant field is preferred.
- Experience that provides a basic understanding of essential duties, typically from a similar role or an apprenticeship/internship for two to three years.
- Must possess or be able to obtain a valid drivers license for the type of vehicle used.
Responsibilities
- Support the Director of Client Technology & Media Services and/or IT Regional Operations Director with projects and technical deployments.
- Provide hardware and software assistance for all College-owned desktops, laptops, printers, and peripherals across all GHC campuses.
- Manage the configuration, deployment, and upkeep of hardware for GHC desktops, laptops, smart devices, and computer accessories.
- Install, configure, and maintain new computers and peripherals for the institution.
- Deliver tier-two support via phone, email, web, and in-person for faculty, staff, and students.
- Aid in resolving user account issues for students and staff.
- Assist with basic audio-visual tasks within the IT Division.
- Maintain precise inventory records for all GHC desktops and laptops.
- Help customers connect personal devices (smartphones, tablets, laptops) to GHC Wi-Fi.
- Collaborate on projects within the Information Technology Services Division.
- Work with other IT staff to troubleshoot and resolve system issues.
- Maintain the integrity of this trust position.
- Carry out related responsibilities as needed.
Description
We are seeking a Temporary Assistant in IT Support at our Georgia Highlands College Cartersville Campus, offering a part-time position of approximately 22 hours per week. This role, vital to our Client Technology Services (CTS) unit, focuses on delivering high-quality support to students and employees, ensuring all technology needs are met. While this is a non-benefitted position, we pride ourselves on fostering a supportive environment that promotes employee growth and wellness, as we continue our commitment to educational excellence.
