Requirements
Must:
- Bachelors degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, or a related field
- At least 4 years of database administration experience in a suitable technical environment, preferably in labor market or regulatory industries
- Experience as a SQL DBA in SQL Server 2012 or newer
- Ability and readiness to provide off-hours on-call support
- Strong analytical, decision-making, and communication skills
- Proficient in T-SQL programming
- Experience in high transaction volume, 24/7 VLDB enterprise database settings
- Understanding of SQL clustering
- Familiarity with log shipping, database snapshots, and mirroring
- Capacity to support data synchronization across multiple environments
- Knowledge of database security and access protocols
- Familiarity with data modeling techniques and tools
- Ability to thrive in a large, fast-paced database environment
- Commitment to implement and enhance database standards and deployment processes
- Expertise in performance tuning and indexing, including execution plan analysis
- Experience with transactional replication is an advantage
- Working knowledge of Reporting Services is a plus
Responsibilities
- Exhibit strong communication and interpersonal skills
- Provide expert knowledge in MS SQL database technology
- Conduct daily health assessments and ensure recovery protocols are operational
- Diagnose, identify, and resolve database issues promptly
- Offer off-hours on-call support and collaborate with system engineers
- Assume responsibility for the well-being and performance of all company databases
- Support all environments during the software development life cycle
- Collaborate with solution architects to formulate enterprise-level data strategies
- Mentor development teams and aid with both new and existing data interfaces
- Uphold and enforce naming, coding, design, deployment, and security standards
- Refine existing methods, policies, procedures, and processes
- Create high-quality documentation
