Requirements

Must:
- 4-year college degree or relevant experience with strong mainframe (COBOL, JCL, CICS, IMS) programming skills and production support experience in insurance or finance - 5+ years of experience in the Insurance or Financial Services industry - Practical knowledge of Long-Term Care (LTC) insurance products and premium structures - 2+ years of experience with Agile methodologies (Scrum and/or Kanban) - Excellent analytical abilities with a detail-oriented approach, capable of interpreting complex business logic and assessing system impacts - Strong prioritization skills to manage multiple deadlines concurrently - Proven skills in process improvement and project management - Ability to advocate for technological enhancements, influence stakeholders, and broker solutions in conflicting situations - Experience with an onshore-offshore operational model - Proficient in presenting information clearly to executive leadership and business stakeholders - Commitment to innovation and continuous improvement, with the capability to lead change initiatives - Advanced expertise in SQL and data analysis - Experience in developing or supporting IT controls and audit processes - Background in a cross-functional team within a complex mainframe environment, displaying strong problem-solving abilities and results-driven focus - Open to adopting new technologies and working methodologies

Responsibilities

- Oversee all software engineering aspects for the LTC CLOAS Administration system, including architecture, development, implementation, maintenance, and support - Facilitate technical sessions to comprehensively understand complex business requirements - Ensure design solutions align with coding standards, achieve intended business outcomes, and maintain overall technical architecture integrity - Conduct technical analyses and component code reviews of the proposed solutions - Evaluate existing systems architecture and collaborate with technical staff to suggest enhancements - Stay informed about current technology trends and best practices - Understand the implications of system downtimes on business processes - Support Genworths LTC CLOAS administration system by adhering to application control protocols and managing audit, security, and risk program requests - Advocate for continuous improvement in regular operations and spearhead changes across LTC business and technology teams - Research and evaluate emerging technologies, making proposals for necessary changes - Maintain current knowledge of business processes and collaborate with leadership to ensure system alignment
