Must:
To be considered for this position, you should hold a Bachelor’s degree in Software Engineering or a related field in Science, Engineering, Technology, or Mathematics. Alternatively, a Master’s degree in a similar discipline with 3 years of job-related experience is acceptable. We’re looking for candidates with at least 5 years of relevant experience; Agile methodology experience is preferred. You must possess expertise in Digital Signal Processing (DSP), as well as programming experience in C++ and MATLAB. Additionally, a Department of Defense Secret security clearance is mandatory upon hire. Selected applicants will undergo a U.S. Government security investigation and must meet eligibility criteria for access to classified information. U.S. citizenship is also required due to the nature of our work.
Responsibilities
We are excited to welcome a highly proficient Senior Digital Signal Processing (DSP) Software Engineer to our innovative team specializing in undersea sensor systems. In this role, you will be tasked with designing, developing, and implementing state-of-the-art DSP algorithms and software solutions for underwater sensor applications. You will collaborate with various cross-functional teams to deliver high-performance, reliable, and scalable DSP solutions that align with our customers’ requirements.
Key responsibilities include:
- Designing, developing, and enhancing DSP algorithms and software for undersea sensor applications.
- Collaborating with hardware and software engineers to incorporate DSP solutions into embedded systems for underwater environments.
- Conducting performance analysis and optimizing DSP algorithms for efficient and reliable performance in challenging underwater conditions.
- Creating and maintaining documentation for DSP algorithms, software, and systems.
- Offering technical leadership and mentoring to junior engineers.
- Keeping abreast of the latest advancements in DSP technologies and industry trends, particularly related to undersea sensors.
- Participating in design and code reviews, as well as testing to ensure high-quality outcomes.
- Troubleshooting and resolving issues concerning DSP software and systems in underwater applications.
Description
We value a Bachelors or Masters degree in Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, or a related field and require a minimum of 5 years in DSP software development. An active DoD Secret security clearance is essential. We seek individuals proficient in C/C++ programming languages, experienced in developing and optimizing DSP algorithms for underwater sensor applications, and familiar with DSP hardware architectures. A solid understanding of signal processing theory and techniques related to underwater environments, and experience with MATLAB or similar tools are also preferred. Additionally, experience with real-time operating systems (RTOS) and embedded software development, as well as knowledge of underwater acoustics and sonar systems, is highly valued. Familiarity with machine learning and artificial intelligence applications in signal processing and experience with oceanographic data analysis and modeling will stand out.
