Requirements
Must:
- 5-8 years of experience in network security or network engineering, focusing on Zero Trust and SD-WAN
- Proven expertise in designing, implementing, and managing LAN/WAN and SD-WAN networks
- Strong understanding of zero trust network security practices, including firewall configurations and segmentation techniques
- Comprehensive knowledge of routing, switching, multicast, and quality of service (QoS)
- Excellent problem-solving and troubleshooting abilities
- Familiarity with common security threats and protective measures for network, cloud, and endpoint resources
- Experience in log forwarding and event correlation using an enterprise-grade SIEM
- Hands-on experience with public cloud networking and security in AWS, Azure, and/or GCP
- Strong written and verbal communication skills
- Highly motivated with keen attention to detail
- Bachelors Degree with 5-8 years of relevant technical experience in a diverse and fast-paced environment
- Active Secret clearance
- DoD 8570 IAT Level II certification
- Proficiency in network security technologies such as Palo Alto, Cisco, or Juniper
- Solid knowledge in firewall architecture and security best practices.
Responsibilities
- Contribute to the design, implementation, and maintenance of a high-distributed network adhering to zero trust principles
- Assist in designing and implementing SD-WAN based network architecture across multiple global sites
- Configure, install, and manage network hardware such as routers, switches, and firewalls
- Plan, execute, and document network upgrades, expansions, and optimizations
- Establish protocol compatibility standards
- Act as a subject matter expert in zero trust network architecture
- Maintain comprehensive network documentation, including architecture diagrams and configuration logs
- Diagnose and resolve complex network issues related to performance, security, and connectivity
- Analyze network traffic to ensure optimal system operations
- Develop and implement disaster recovery strategies for network resilience
- Supervise and mentor junior network engineers
- Collaborate with IT teams to ensure integration and interoperability of networks
- Coordinate with vendors for network equipment selection and implementation
- Ensure compliance with industry standards, DoD regulations, and DoD ZT requirements as outlined in the DoD ZT Execution Roadmap.
