Responsibilities
As a Test Engineer Senior, I have the opportunity to make a significant impact by supporting essential government clients in mission-critical duties. My responsibilities include:
- Designing, developing, and implementing test plans, manual test scripts, and automated testing processes.
- Creating tests within a collaborative, team-oriented environment.
- Implementing and identifying innovative tools, frameworks, and utilities to increase velocity while maintaining and improving quality standards.
- Applying technical, business, and quality skills to assess product and code health, implementing modern testing approaches, and preventing production defects.
- Establishing a highly collaborative environment that values speed and quality.
- Performing API level testing.
- Actively participating in agile meetings with product and program management.
- Maintaining a proactive attitude and willingness to go the extra mile to complete tasks.
- Creating end-to-end System Integration test cases for developing regression automated tests.
Description
To succeed in this role, I will need a Bachelor of Science degree (or equivalent experience) and have 5+ years of related experience. I should have familiarity with various SDLC methodologies and strong experience with automated testing tools/frameworks/languages, such as Selenium, UFT, TestNG, Cucumber, NUnit, JUnit, JMeter, etc.
I will also collaborate as part of an agile team utilizing Scrum, XP, Kanban, or SAFe agile methods, maintain controlled test datasets and scenarios, work with DevSecOps pipelines, and write automated tests for web-based applications, web services, APIs, and databases. Additionally, I will conduct functional, regression, integration, and performance testing across various platforms and identify, document, and track defects using tools like Azure DevOps.
A preferred skill is having an ISTQB or similar software tester certification, and I must possess an active Top Secret clearance/Department of Energy Q. This position requires me to work on-site in Gaithersburg, MD, Washington, DC, or Las Vegas, NV, with less than 10% travel required.
