Systems Administrator, Senior

As a Senior Systems Administrator at GDIT, you will transform technology into opportunity, ensuring that today is safe and tomorrow is smarter. You will be responsible for: - Developing technical solutions for the management of software, hardware, configurations, and architecture, interpreting moderately complex systems matters. - Providing troubleshooting support for hardware and software issues that are highly complex. - Training end users on the proper use of hardware and software, potentially training large groups. - Performing advanced software installations and upgrades to operating systems and layered software packages. - Monitoring and tuning the system to achieve optimum performance levels. - Guiding less experienced personnel on data integrity matters and the implementation of standard software and hardware solutions. - Leading complex data/media recovery efforts following a schedule of system backups and database archive operations. - Conducting advanced hardware and software audits to ensure compliance with established standards, policies, and configuration guidelines. - Serving as a recognized subject matter expert in your field, managing large projects with limited oversight. - Evaluating and assessing existing systems while planning long-term strategies. - Coaching and reviewing the work of less-experienced professionals, and possibly serving as a team or task leader (not a people manager).
