Responsibilities

As a member of our SIEM Team, you will work as a Splunk Systems Engineer, addressing intricate issues with straightforward solutions. You will create custom solutions tailored to the specific needs of our clients, prioritizing user experience while we focus on your professional growth. Your key tasks will include: - Ensuring the proper functionality of the Splunk infrastructure, which involves PKI-based authentication, corporate authorization services, firewalls, and SSL/TLS communications. - Contributing to the development and enhancement of industry best practices and standards for managing data analytics enterprise technologies. - Assisting in the installation, testing, and deployment of hotfixes/patches for Splunk applications/products to mitigate enterprise vulnerabilities. - Aiding in the creation of knowledge articles, documentation, and guidance used by various teams including Splunk, server, desktop, and Information System Security teams, as well as Tier 2/3 Help Desk technicians.

To achieve success in this position, we require: - Education: Bachelor's degree (Bachelor of Arts or Bachelor of Science) - Experience: At least 2 years of pertinent experience - Security Clearance Level: Top Secret/SCI with Polygraph - Required Skills and Abilities: Proficiency in managing user authentication within Splunk, including Role and Attribute-Based Access Controls (RBAC/ABAC), authenticating with Lightweight Directory Access Protocol (LDAP) and Active Directory (AD), and managing access using HEC tokens. Experience in implementing and managing applications within Splunk is highly desired. Preferred Skills Include: - Experience in reviewing network, host, and firewall security logs. - Proficiency in scripting languages like CSS, HTML, JavaScript, Python, and shell scripting for automating tasks. - Experience with technical add-ons, particularly DBConnect and Splunk Machine Learning Toolkit (MLTK). - Strong grasp of RMF, Trellix ePO, NESSUS, SCAP, and vulnerability scanning. - Knowledge in data analytics, Hadoop, MapReduce, and visualization is advantageous. - Programming knowledge in PowerShell or Python is a plus. - Familiarity with the ServiceNow ticketing system. - Strong organizational, communication, and collaboration skills; a customer-focused and results-driven demeanor.
