Responsibilities

- Manage systems professionals directly or through subordinate managers while providing leadership, coaching, and training. - Act as an advisor to subordinates to meet schedules and resolve technical problems. - Develop schedules and performance metrics, managing a medium to large team or department focusing on multiple areas. - Provide technical mentoring to teams and team leads. - Guide the implementation details for specific projects and responsibilities for certain deliverables. - Shape technical responses to task orders and ECPs related to deliverables such as the service catalog. - Maintain a team environment focused on the mission and excited about the work ahead. - Design systems architecture for new or existing computer systems and plan highly complex engineering systems for optimal operations. - Engineer advanced systems design, development, and integration throughout the entire systems life cycle. - Maintain complex infrastructures, including installing, configuring, testing, and maintaining operating systems, application software, and system management tools. - Ensure comprehensive documentation for processes and procedures related to engineering projects is maintained. - Provide guidance to less-experienced Systems Engineers. - Stay current with rapidly changing technology and work with management to evolve processes accordingly. - Coach and review work from less-experienced professionals, providing system/equipment/specialized training and technical guidance.
