Responsibilities
As a Senior Linux System Administrator, I will maintain an organization’s computer systems' workflows and will be responsible for the upkeep, configuration, and reliable operation of computer systems, including fixing network issues along with updating equipment and software. My responsibilities include:
- Managing an environment that is 80% or more Linux/UNIX and 20% or less Windows with 600+ physical and virtual servers spanning various levels of complex classified systems and networks.
- Performing in-depth analysis and technical support of systems, including complex problem resolution, design, development, testing, operational integration, and user support.
- Planning and evaluating operating systems for performance analysis, capacity planning, and hardware upgrades.
- Providing specialized expertise within multiple IT systems, including but not limited to: Windows 2016/2019 Server, Red Hat Enterprise Linux, VMWare hypervisor, VMWare Horizon, and more.
- Overseeing the implementation of system specifications, integration, testing, and documentation.
- Demonstrating strong technical skills across numerous systems and storage technologies.
- Administering core systems such as Domain Controllers, Linux servers, DNS, VMware, and HPE Blade System.
- Working knowledge in SAN storage configuration, basic enterprise networking configuration, and maintenance.
Description
I am offering a $10K sign-on bonus for this position. The likely salary range for this position is $140,250 - $189,750, determined based on experience, geographic location, and possibly contractual requirements.
This role is full-time, requiring 40 scheduled weekly hours with no travel required and an onsite work location in Livermore, CA, USA.
