Responsibilities
As a member of our team, I will be working within Special Access Programs (SAPs) supporting Department of Defense (DoD) agencies. My day-to-day activities will include:
- Installing, maintaining, auditing, and supporting a secure MS Windows network environment and limited web/data application services.
- Maintaining internet applications and protocols such as IP, TCP, HTTP, HTTPS, FTP, and SSL.
- Managing file servers, firewalls, network access, security monitoring systems, and system documentation as required.
- Interfacing with local customers to provide IT-related support and quickly resolving problems.
- Analyzing and troubleshooting system anomalies to ensure optimal equipment performance.
- Performing periodic maintenance, hardware upgrades, firmware updates, and system configuration changes.
- Performing scheduled tape backups on systems as required.
- Managing the data backup library, including storage of tapes, disks, and other magnetic media.
- Attending planning and requirements meetings with IT staff, program managers, and customers as needed.
- Preparing systems for operational use and supporting operational tests.
- Providing technical guidance.
Description
I have thorough knowledge of Microsoft Windows Server, Exchange Server, and operating systems such as Windows 7/10, as well as a working knowledge of CISCO network technologies. I am familiar with Local Area Network (LAN) and Wide Area Network (WAN) technologies and have experience with data backup technologies, risk management frameworks, and security policies. I possess the ability to work dynamically with military and civilian personnel, and I am skilled in Microsoft Office applications. I am also willing to travel within the organizational geographic Area of Responsibility.
The likely salary range for this position is $80,226 - $107,525, based on experience, location, and contractual requirements. The role is in Albuquerque, NM with scheduled weekly hours of 40 and travel needed at about 10-25%.
