Responsibilities

As a Network/System Administrator (Net/Sys Admin) III, your primary responsibilities will include organizing, installing, and supporting our government organization’s computer systems. This encompasses local area networks (LANs), wide area networks (WANs), network segments, intranets, and other data communication systems. You will also contribute to the architecture, design, and analysis of network models while participating in procurement decisions for hardware or software upgrades to enhance our infrastructure. As part of your role, you may provide technical support to end-users to resolve issues. You'll support activities within Special Access Programs (SAPs) for the Department of Defense (DoD) agencies, such as HQ Air Force and the Office of the Secretary of Defense (OSD). Your daily tasks will include managing Collateral, Sensitive Compartmented Information (SCI), and Special Access Program (SAP) initiatives. The performance expectations include: - Working autonomously with minimal supervision. - Leading the IT operations team in daily management tasks and implementing capabilities critiqued by Cybersecurity, ISSE, and higher authorities to uphold JSIG/RMF Authority to Operate, as well as Continuous Monitoring protocols. - Managing COTS & GOTS products to capture, display, and resolve a variety of automated system security and performance metrics. - Assisting during security evaluations of servers/network devices/security appliances while also ensuring accuracy and efficiency. - Developing operational Operations and Maintenance (O&M) checklists and building Tactics, Techniques, and Processes (TTPs) and Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs). - Operating monitoring tools/capabilities with enterprise security information and event management (SIEM) along with crafting tailored event alarms/rules and summaries. - Executing cybersecurity operational procedures for daily network management, maintenance, and operations. - Monitoring and analyzing the output of cybersecurity tools for reportable incidents and residual risks. - Collaborating in analyzing the technical risk of emerging cybersecurity tools as needed. - Participating in a security incident response team when required and assisting ISSM/ISSO/ISSE with the integration/development of new improvement techniques. - Ensuring confidentiality, integrity, and availability for networks/systems operating across various classification levels. Advanced technical proficiency in several supported platforms is required, including but not limited to: Microsoft Windows Server, Active Directory, Red Hat Enterprise Linux servers, MS Hyper-V/VMWare, enterprise networking/firewalls, and SQL Server security.

For this position, a Bachelor’s degree in a related field or equivalent experience (4 years) is required. In terms of certifications, candidates should have an IAT Level III certification (CISSP, CASP+ CE, CCNP Security, CISA, etc.). Clearance is a prerequisite: TS/SCI is required at the start, and candidates must be eligible to attain TS/SCI with CI Polygraph. The expected salary range for this role is between $102,000 - $138,000, although actual compensation may vary based on experience, location, and contractual requirements.
