Alternatively, a Master’s degree in a related field with five years of general experience, of which at least three years must be specialized, or no degree with ten years of general experience, of which at least eight years is specialized.
- Additional Requirements: For positions in Germany and Italy, candidates must meet TESA requirements.
Responsibilities
As a Network Infrastructure Specialist (Network Administrator) at our Aviano site, I will be responsible for:
- Deploying, configuring, maintaining, and monitoring active data network or converged infrastructure environments and related network equipment.
- Managing and maintaining the Wide Area Network/Local Area Network (WAN/LAN) infrastructure.
- Providing support in the deployment and configuration of comprehensive routing and switching network designs.
- Monitoring network issues and outages according to directives and guidelines, escalating them based on severity levels.
- Supporting Network Infrastructure, Cyber Transport, and Network Core Services, including maintaining Network Encryption devices (e.g., TACLANEs).
- Diagnosing and troubleshooting Wi-Fi networks and connected devices.
- Supporting information assurance by updating and maintaining organizational websites and access management.
- Diagnosing, troubleshooting, and restoring technical service and end-user software and hardware issues, including user desktops, laptops, printers, and network access issues.
- Managing network user accounts on relevant systems and platforms.
- Providing End User Device Support for Voice, Data, and Video Devices.
- Maintaining servers, software systems, and networks.
- Configuring, maintaining, and upgrading network connection devices and network hardware/software equipment.
- Administering user accounts, file permissions, and print queues.
- Providing technical support, including troubleshooting user operating problems and network issues.
- Supporting Information Technology Services Management (ITSM) functions.
- Managing systems notifications, authorized service interruptions, and outages.
Description
I must possess and maintain DoDD 8570.01M/DoDD 8140 IAT II certification and appropriate computing environment certifications.
The position requires a minimum of six years of experience, with at least four years being specialized in communications software, hardware, or network specialties. My responsibilities will include analyzing network characteristics and recommending changes, designing and optimizing network topologies, and planning installations and transitions.
This position is located on the customer site with scheduled weekly hours of 40 and anticipated travel of less than 10%. The work is mostly onsite at an international location.
