Responsibilities
As a Network Administrator Senior, I am responsible for:
- Acquiring, installing, maintaining, and managing the company's local area network.
- Assessing contractor products to determine which best meet company needs and presenting information to management for purchases and installations.
- Managing network performance and ensuring network security by implementing and enforcing security procedures.
- Installing all network software and evaluating, developing, and maintaining telecommunications systems.
- Troubleshooting network issues and establishing, implementing, and ensuring adherence to network policies, procedures, and standards.
- Training users on network operation and performing administrative duties for networking hardware including routers, switches, and more.
- Monitoring and responding to hardware and software problems using a variety of testing tools and techniques.
- Providing technical support and training to end-users, administering network security, backing up file server data, and performing complex server maintenance.
- Setting up new users and managing user access on the network.
Description
To succeed in this position, I need:
- Education: Bachelor's Degree with 12 years of experience or Master's Degree with 10 years of experience.
- Preferred Skillset/Experience:
- Comprehensive knowledge of network troubleshooting and support methods.
- Familiarity with routers, switches, patch panels, and related network hardware and software.
- Knowledge of desktop operating systems and applications.
- Required Certifications:
- DoD 8570.01-M IAT Level II/8140 Computing Environment Certification is required before support on contract.
- IAT II 8570/8140 Baseline Certification Security+ or equivalent.
- Computing Environment certification: CCNA or CCNA-Security.
- Location: On Customer Site
- Additional Requirements:
- Willingness to attain a CI Polygraph for certain positions as determined by the contract.
- Position may require lifting IT hardware, bending, and other moderately strenuous activities.
- Travel may be required to support the mission.
