Requirements

Must:
- Education: Bachelor's Degree or 4 years of equivalent experience - Experience: 6+ years of progressive experience in information systems security in a DoD environment - Certifications: - IAT III and/or IAM III certifications as approved by the customer - CE certification (e.g., Microsoft Certified Solutions Expert (MCSE) - Technical Skills: - Demonstrated experience consulting with internal and external customers to understand business and technical needs, and make recommendations as needed - Proficiency with MS Office products (e.g., Word, PowerPoint, Access) - Security Clearance: Must be able to obtain a Position of Trust and successfully pass a thorough Government background screening process requiring the completion of detailed forms and fingerprinting - Location: On Customer Site - Travel: Some local travel may be required - Weekly Scheduled Hours: 40 - Work visa sponsorship will not be provided for this position.

Responsibilities

As an Information Assurance/Security Specialist III, I will help support GDIT’s Military Health IT Team. I will be responsible for the management and security of JBSA Sites and the supported networks. My responsibilities will include: - Specializing in the analysis or application of system security practices within the organization. - Assisting the system owner and Information System Security Officer (ISSO) in various aspects of designing, developing, and writing certification and accreditation (C&A) documentation packages needed to obtain an Authority to Operate (ATO) for the systems and/or environment. - Following National Institute of Standards and Technology (NIST) and/or Department of Defense IA Certification and Accreditation Process standards. - Implementing countermeasures or mitigating controls. - Conducting regular audits to ensure secure operation of systems and compliance with security policies and procedures. - Safeguarding the network against unauthorized access, modifications, or disclosures. - Responding to inquiries and requests for computer security information and reports. - Conducting investigations of computer security violations and incidents, reporting findings to management as necessary. - Supporting periodic and on-demand system audits and vulnerability assessments to ensure compliance. - Providing information assurance project management and support in the development of security-related technical documents. - Offering guidance and leadership to less-experienced team members. - Maintaining 100% compliance with DoD, NIST RMF, and other security policies while ensuring adherence to security policies, regulations, and privacy laws.
