Responsibilities

As a Help Desk Technician at GDIT, I will provide exceptional IT support to our esteemed clients at the highest levels of the federal government in the heart of Washington, D.C. In this role, I will be the first point of contact for our government clients, leveraging my strong technical and customer service skills to resolve issues swiftly and efficiently. My professionalism and proactive approach are essential in a dynamic environment that offers numerous opportunities for training, certification, and career growth. Some of the key contributions I will make include: - Offering a high level of technical support and service to our onsite and remote users. - Displaying meticulous attention to detail while solving problems and striving to deliver an outstanding customer experience. - Providing exceptional customer service through phone, chat, email, tickets, and on-site support. - Supporting the installation and repair of desktops, laptops, printers, iPads, and other peripherals. - Diagnosing and troubleshooting issues with Microsoft Windows and MacOS. - Identifying hardware, software, and user-related problems and recommending necessary corrective actions. - Supporting Microsoft Office 365 and Active Directory products. - Documenting and managing customer incidents and requests via a ticketing management system. - Following resolution procedures and escalating tickets to the appropriate teams when necessary. - Troubleshooting individual workstation issues. - Utilizing advanced skills for setting up shared drives, mapping network drives, and installing updates.

Description


To be successful as a Help Desk Technician, I will need: - An Associate's Degree in an IT-related field and at least 3 years of relevant experience. - Technical skills in support, networking, application assistance, and problem-solving. - A CompTIA Security+ certification to be obtained within 6 months of my start date. - An Active Top Secret security clearance with SCI Eligibility. - Excellent verbal and written communication, collaboration skills, and adaptability. I must also be able to pass a basic English language assessment test. - The job will be located on customer premises in Washington, D.C.
