Requirements
Must:
- Active TS/SCI clearance and the ability to obtain and maintain a CI polygraph.
- Meet DoD 8570 IAT Level II requirements including one of the following: Security+ CE, CND, SSCP, GSEC, GICSP, CySA+, or CCNA Security.
- Education: Bachelor of Science Degree or a related technical discipline, or equivalent combination of education, technical certifications, training, or work experience.
- Minimum of 8 years of related technical experience.
- Experience with Exchange Server versions 2007-2019: design, installation, configuration, maintenance, performance tuning, migration, and upgrades to the server.
- Knowledge of ATO and project management processes with experience certifying products for use in production networks.
- Knowledge of Enterprise Vault and its integration process into Exchange environments.
- Experience utilizing PowerShell for creating, developing, writing, testing, etc.
- U.S. Citizenship is required.
Responsibilities
As an Exchange Engineer supporting the Government, I am entrusted with engineering solutions for email systems, email retention systems, archival technologies, authentication, and more. A typical day may include:
- Developing solutions to complex engineering problems of moderate scope and complexity.
- Administering large deployments of Microsoft Exchange environments and messaging systems, including configuration.
- Designing, deploying, integrating, and maintaining on/off premise Exchange solutions.
- Analyzing customer requirements, concept of operations documents, and high-level system architectures to develop system requirements specifications.
- Performing continual maintenance and providing complex solutions for security, backup, and redundancy issues.
- Guiding users in formulating requirements, advising on alternative approaches, and conducting feasibility studies.
- Leading system development and implementation planning through the assessment or preparation of system engineering management plans and system integration and test plans.
- Utilizing ticketing systems (like ServiceNow) to resolve user problems as needed.

The likely salary range for this position is between $153,000 - $207,000, which will be set based on experience, geographic location, and possibly contractual requirements. This role requires a commitment of 40 scheduled hours per week with less than 10% travel. While the position offers onsite work options, it is located in Annapolis Junction, MD, with additional work locations in Sterling, VA.
