Requirements
Must:
- Associate Degree in Technical Communications or a related field, or equivalent experience
- 2-3 years of experience in producing various levels of Technical Publications and Training documents
- Bachelors Degree in Technical Writing or a similar discipline (preferred)
- 3 years of technical writing or related experience (preferred)
- Familiarity with Engineering tools and workflows (preferred)
- Strong attention to detail, ability to meet deadlines, and excellent organizational skills (preferred)
- Exceptional writing, editing, and communication abilities (preferred)
Responsibilities
- Conduct research, write, and edit technical documentation to support internal processes and requirements, including Engineering Design Standards, CAD Modeling Best Practices, Product Data Management Procedures, and Test Procedures.
- Adhere to internal Service Level Agreements (SLAs) to produce timely and precise documentation, following the complete document lifecycle and revision protocols.
- Ensure uniform terminology, formatting, and style standards are maintained across all documents.
- Manage and maintain the document repository, templates, and formatting, suggesting and implementing enhancements as necessary.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams, such as Engineering, to gather document requirements and validate technical accuracy while transforming inputs into clear, high-quality documentation. Act as a neutral advocate challenging assumptions and identifying gaps.
- Engage in Standards Steering Committee/Governance meetings to collect feedback, comprehend evolving organizational demands, and contribute to the creation of scalable document solutions.
- Review existing standards for clarity and completeness, ensuring they align with current engineering practices and updating obsolete standards as needed.
