Requirements
Must:
- Extensive experience in crafting scalable, secure, and observable distributed systems, including microservices and event-driven architectures.
- Proven ability to establish service architecture strategies that encompass APIs, data contracts, and runtime platforms across numerous teams.
- Profound insight into system design principles, including consistency models, caching strategies, resilience patterns, and fault tolerance.
- Hands-on experience with at least one significant backend ecosystem: Node.js/TypeScript, Java/Kotlin, .NET, Python, or Go.
- Strong foundation in operational excellence, covering observability, performance tuning, incident response, and reliability engineering.
- Experience collaborating with product, security, SRE, and data teams to translate business needs into robust technical solutions.
- Familiarity with integrating or developing LLMs and Generative AI services within enterprise frameworks.
- Comprehensive understanding of prompt engineering, evaluation methods, and AI quality standards.
- Capability to architect inference systems, including routing, batching, caching, and cost optimization.
- Proficiency in designing intelligent service flows, such as Retrieval Augmented Generation (RAG) and agent-based architectures.
- Knowledge of AI safety, governance, and ethical AI principles.
- Experience in developing AI-enhanced platform components, such as intelligent API gateways, policy engines, or observability tools.
- Awareness of AI-driven analytics and telemetry for tracking model performance and service reliability.
Responsibilities
- Architect and develop enterprise-scale backend systems that are secure, highly available, efficient, and cost-effective.
- Establish and enforce standards for service architecture, API contracts, and runtime models across development teams.
- Propel technical decisions that balance creativity, maintainability, operational efficiency, and long-term platform health.
- Mentor and support engineering teams in implementing services, APIs, and shared platform capabilities.
- Define and deploy AI-augmented backend architectures, focusing on inference-aware service patterns and model deployment strategies.
- Integrate LLMs and Generative AI features into customer-focused functions and internal platforms.
- Create specification-driven development processes that harness AI to boost developer efficiency and quality.
- Collaborate with Data Science, ML Engineering, and Product teams to operationalize models with robust SLAs, security measures, and financial oversight.
- Assess emerging AI technologies and align solutions with organizational standards and governance frameworks.
- Advocate for Developer Experience (DevEx) improvements through enhanced development tools, CI/CD quality checkpoints, and test automation.
