Requirements
Must:
- 6+ years of experience in mainframe programming and on-call support, specifically in COBOL and DB2 within a JCL and IBM mainframe environment
- Proficient in TSO (Time Sharing Option) and MVS (Multiple Virtual Storage) environments
- Experience with VSAM (Virtual Storage Access Method) and Flat Files, understanding data structure and storage
- Knowledgeable in EBCDIC data encoding format
- Competent in COBOL programming
- Familiarity with Easytrieve and File Aid
- Skilled in SQL Server for querying and managing relational databases
- Capable of writing scripts and JCL (Job Control Language) to schedule and manage batch jobs
- Preferred experience in Healthcare IT systems such as claims, Medicaid, or Medicare
Responsibilities
- Leverage your skills to support Gainwell in achieving better health and human service outcomes for clients
- Engage in mainframe programming involving TSO and MVS environments
- Handle VSAM and Flat Files, focusing on data structures and storage aspects
- Utilize EBCDIC data encoding while programming in COBOL
- Conduct database programming and scripting with SQL Server
- Design, develop, install, test, and document application software
- Collaborate in creating and delivering technical architecture solutions
- Ensure effective communication between application architects and developers to meet design requirements
- Define project requirements, functional specifications, and detailed application designs for clients
- Develop comprehensive technical documentation and testing plans to assist in integration and deployment
