Software Engineer with Java and Python

- Design, develop, and maintain web applications in partnership with team members to create scalable and high-performance software solutions that meet specified Government deadlines - Collaborate with clients, business analysts, and other stakeholders to gather and analyze requirements for web applications, ensuring alignment with business needs and Technical Leads guidance - Prioritize code quality, readability, maintainability, and efficiency, utilizing appropriate data structures and algorithms to minimize resource usage and ensure scalability - Employ standardized software engineering methodologies, including Agile practices, automated testing, and CI/CD, to ensure consistent and reliable development - Participate in monthly peer code reviews to assess code quality and adherence to best practices, providing constructive feedback during developer meetings - Maintain and enhance existing software applications through regular updates and improvements, ensuring continued functionality - Integrate and oversee databases during development, working with Microsoft Server Query Language (MSSQL) and My Structured Query Language (MySQL) - Prepare documentation for software solutions for Government review and approval during the development lifecycle - Update and maintain the DoD Information Technology Portfolio Repository – Department of the Navy (DITPR-DON) for systems in production as necessary - Assess the effects of Government-approved change requests on software performance and reliability, offering feedback to the Lead Software Engineer and Technical Lead - Ensure compliance with 508 standards - Submit code using CI/CD pipeline tools in accordance with policy and validate that findings meet minimum requirements as outlined in GFI
