Requirements
Must:
- Bachelors degree in Computer Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Software Engineering, Computer Science, or a related field.
- Over 4 years of experience in embedded real-time software development.
- Strong expertise in C/C++ programming.
- Experience with real-time operating systems or bare-metal targets.
- Practical experience in safety-critical, high-reliability, or highly regulated environments such as avionics, automotive, medical, or defense.
- U.S. citizenship required.
Responsibilities
- Design, implement, and integrate embedded C/C++ software on GE Aerospace computing hardware and RTOS platforms.
- Collaborate with Systems and Hardware engineers to clarify software requirements and interfaces.
- Develop unit and integration tests, and participate in hardware-in-the-loop testing to ensure software functionality.
- Engage in the DO-178C certification process by producing and reviewing design, code, and test artifacts.
- Troubleshoot and resolve issues identified during integration, lab testing, and flight testing.
- Cultivate a deep understanding of an assigned product area and contribute to its technical design and documentation.
- Work closely with various teams, including Systems, Hardware, Safety, and Quality, to ensure robust and certifiable solutions.
- Mentor junior engineers and provide guidance as expertise develops.
- Identify and drive improvements in development and verification processes, tools, and automation.
- Support the application of Product Line Engineering concepts and the reuse of software components across programs.
- Utilize Lean and Agile practices to deliver high-quality software on schedule.
