Requirements
Must:
I hold a Bachelor’s degree from an accredited university or a high school diploma/GED with considerable experience in Engineering and Technology (10-15 years). I have 8-10 years of experience in programming embedded software and am a U.S. Citizen, which is necessary for this role due to the requirement to handle technical data subject to U.S. Government contract restrictions. I am capable of obtaining a security clearance in the future.
Responsibilities
As a Staff Engineer in Embedded Software Development, I play a crucial role in the aerospace industry, focusing on designing, developing, and testing embedded software (firmware) alongside platforms and systems. I utilize my extensive experience in full-cycle microprocessor development—ranging from architecture design to hardware-software integration and performance optimization for complex systems—to deliver high-performance solutions in the Avionics Sector. Additionally, I provide mentorship to team members and support the next-generation product roadmap by collaborating with the Advanced Technologies Organization. I lead sustainable improvement initiatives within my department and coordinate with customers and internal stakeholders across various functions such as Systems, Hardware, and Quality. I also guide project teams throughout the entire software life cycle—from requirements gathering and design to implementation, verification, validation, and certification—while maintaining expert knowledge of products and applications. Moreover, I am responsible for architecting and developing embedded software modules, features, and products, ensuring consistent communication amongst stakeholders to keep everyone informed about project details.
Description
I possess experience with embedded software development tools and environments, hardware-software integration, and understanding of microcontrollers and multi-core processing. My knowledge extends to communication protocols and software development methodologies, and I am proficient in programming languages such as C, Python, and shell scripting. I am adept at solving intricate problems and can propose innovative solutions, employing my technical skills and analytical thinking. I can lead smaller projects and help build consensus among peers. I have any necessary desired characteristics, which include experience in DO-178B/C projects, strong communication skills, comprehensive software development experience, and project management abilities. My familiarity with Real-time Operating Systems and TCP/IP networks enriches my capabilities. Additionally, I welcome the opportunity to engage with global development teams and value a healthy work-life balance. The base salary for my position is between $121,500 and $162,100, influenced by my experience and skills.
