Requirements
Must:
- Over 7 years of experience in automation project management or equivalent role
- Degree in Mechanical Engineering, Automated Production, or a related field
- Advanced proficiency in English, both spoken and written, due to regular interactions with the global team located outside Canada
- PMP certification or Masters degree in Engineering Management is preferred
- Experience in the automation field is a plus
Responsibilities
- Manage the operational aspects of a portfolio of automation projects, including planning deliverables, milestones, and necessary resources
- Serve as the technical point of contact and expert in automation solutions
- Develop detailed project schedules and integrate resource planning
- Provide technical guidance to team members across various disciplines (Mechanical, Electrical, Robotics, Vision, Programming, etc.) for effective project execution
- Supervise new engineers, CPI, and engineering interns when necessary
- Ensure the achievement of operational targets (Cost, Quality, Timelines) for projects under supervision
- Handle internal and external communications throughout all project phases
- Interface with clients to help define and guide their needs
- Strategize and coordinate the execution of the centers short-to-long term strategies
- Take responsibility for managing projects with extensive scope and requiring high levels of innovation
- Ensure that strategies meet operational targets
- Be available for travel abroad approximately 10-20% of the time
