Requirements

Must:
We require a Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering, Computer Science, or related disciplines with a minimum of 15 years of industry experience, OR a master's degree with at least 10 years of industry experience, OR a Ph.D. with a minimum of 7 years of industry experience. You should have experience with embedded devices (e.g., Xilinx, NXP, MicroChip), hardware-based security (e.g., UEFI, TPM, ARM TrustZone, Secure Boot), and software development for embedded systems including computer architecture, Linux OS, and/or RTOS. Proficient embedded programming skills in C/C++, Python, Go, or Rust are necessary. Familiarity with CNSA 1.0/2.0 and NIST cryptographic algorithms and standards is preferred. You must be able to obtain and maintain U.S. Government Security Clearance and be willing to travel a minimum of 2 weeks per year. U.S. citizenship is required, and you must be available to work out of our office located in Niskayuna, NY.

Responsibilities

As a Principal Embedded Cybersecurity Engineer, I expect you to work independently and collaboratively on advanced cybersecurity technologies for embedded systems relevant to GE Aerospace products. Your role will involve interacting with hardware, software, and firmware developers to identify suitable solutions for challenging applications. You will lead medium to large-sized projects or tasks, document technology and results through patent applications, technical reports, and publications. Staying current with advances in embedded cybersecurity to seek out new ideas and applications will be a key part of your responsibilities. Additionally, you will collaborate with colleagues across GE Aerospace and government agencies and shape and lead proposal responses to GE Aerospace businesses and government agencies, including DARPA, NASA, and AFRL.

Description

I am looking for an ideal candidate who possesses an active U.S. Government Security Clearance and has experience with networking protocols and network security. Familiarity with cryptographic libraries (e.g., OpenSSL and/or wolfSSL), embedded development in an RTOS environment (e.g., VxWorks, FreeRTOS), and anti-tamper technologies is highly desirable. You should also demonstrate the ability to innovate and take concepts to production and have strong analytical and interpersonal skills. Experience with the Agile methodology of program management will be advantageous. The base pay range for this position is $130,000 - $240,000 annually, with eligibility for an annual discretionary bonus.
