Requirements

Must:
- To be considered for this position, you must be a U.S. citizen and possess a U.S. Security Clearance. Additionally, relocation to Grand Rapids, MI is required; however, we offer comprehensive corporate relocation assistance. - A Bachelor’s degree coupled with 5 years of relevant software engineering experience, or a Master’s degree with 2 years of experience in Computer Science, Electrical Engineering, Mathematics, Physics, or related areas is essential. - Proficiency in C, C++, or similar programming languages is required. - You must be able to obtain and maintain U.S. Government Security Clearance as this role necessitates access to technical information that is subject to U.S. Government contract restrictions.

Responsibilities

- I will count on you to design and/or develop small modules, large components, features, and entire embedded software products. - It is crucial that you define and formalize integration requirements relating to systems, hardware, software, and human interaction. - You will need to define and carry out engineering tests, validation, and verification activities. - Adhering to established software development methodologies and documenting your tasks and designs is a vital part of your role. - You will validate and verify software designs across various system integration environments, ranging from local desktop computer simulations to full flight tests. - Implementing protocols and algorithms suitable for resource-constrained environments will require collaboration with the hardware team to ensure effective communication between modules and applications. - It is your responsibility to ensure software robustness, resilience, and safe operation for critical devices while identifying and addressing potential safety and security vulnerabilities. - Additional tasks include creating precise design and technical documentation, optimizing existing applications, and incorporating new features. - I expect you to actively participate in task prioritization, execution, requirements definition, specifications, code and design reviews, as well as mentoring throughout the software development lifecycle. - You will apply best practices for software engineering while understanding essential business drivers and the product roadmap. - Delivering your work in accordance with project scope, cost, and schedule targets while facilitating effective communication with all levels of the organization and customers is essential. - I will encourage you to propose innovative solutions to technical problems, develop cost and time estimates for future bids and programs, and use hardware/software to demonstrate capabilities that align with customer expectations.
