Requirements

Must:
- Proven experience securing cloud environments (AWS, GCP, or Azure), ideally within FISMA compliance frameworks - Strong familiarity with AWS, GCP, or Azure cloud security practices, including logging, tagging strategies, ephemeral resource tracking, and cross-platform operations - Comprehensive understanding and demonstrated experience in applying federal compliance frameworks such as FISMA, NIST 800-53, FedRAMP, RMF, and related policies - Bachelors degree in computer science, Cybersecurity, Information Technology, or a relevant field (or equivalent practical experience in cloud security) - Over 5 years of experience in information security, including at least 3 years concentrating on cloud security - Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the capacity to produce clear security documentation and effectively convey technical concepts to both technical and non-technical audiences - Preferred hands-on experience with automation, security event correlation, asset inventory tracking, and SIEM management (preferably in Splunk), utilizing scripting or programming such as PowerShell, Bash, Python, or equivalent and API usage - Background in regulated federal environments with intricate governance and compliance demands; ability to collaborate and guide multitalented teams managing servers, workstations, network appliances, and security appliances - Certifications: CISSP (or willingness to obtain within 6 months) - Desired certifications: AWS/GCP/Azure Certified - Specialty certifications - Advanced experience with Linux and Windows administration - Familiarity with container security (such as Docker and Kubernetes)

Responsibilities

- Implement security controls to ensure compliant cloud environments on AWS, GCP, or Azure while adhering to FISMA, NIH policies, and federal security standards - Recommend, design, and support cloud security services and control implementations, including Identity Access, Privileged Access, Vulnerability Management, Configuration Compliance, encryption, and centralized security log management - Monitor cloud platforms for security events, irregularities, and configuration drift utilizing SIEM tools (e.g., Splunk); conduct vulnerability assessments, track remediation efforts, and maintain dashboards with measurable metrics to communicate overall security posture - Integrate and optimize enterprise security solutions like Splunk and Tenable, and other data sources to improve continuous monitoring, event correlation, and compliance visibility across a hybrid environment - Investigate and respond to security incidents and alerts, perform root-cause analysis, and execute proper remediation actions in accordance with NIHs established incident response plan - Conduct threat modeling and security evaluations of cloud deployments to identify and mitigate vulnerabilities; develop security requirements and provide guidance for applications migrating from on-premise systems to cloud environments - Enhance and automate security and compliance checks using various tools and scripting; evaluate emerging platforms, such as AI-based capabilities, to boost coverage, visibility, and operational efficiency - Provide security guidance, best practices, and compliance support to developers, operations teams, system owners, and other stakeholders, while promoting security awareness

At Futrend Technology, we are looking for a Cloud Security Architect to become an essential member of our security compliance team. In this pivotal role, you will collaborate closely with the customers Information Systems Security Officer (ISSO) to protect vital IT infrastructures. You will focus on implementing security controls, ensuring compliance with the federal cybersecurity framework, and supporting secure cloud adoption across various platforms. As part of a larger IT program, we provide comprehensive support—which includes help desk, systems, network, incident response, and security services—to secure the availability, integrity, and confidentiality of mission-critical systems. This role is based in Bethesda, MD and requires onsite presence 3 to 5 days per week.
