Requirements

Must:
- Proven experience securing cloud environments (AWS, GCP, or Azure), ideally within FISMA compliance frameworks - Strong understanding of AWS, GCP, or Azure cloud security, including logging, tagging strategies, ephemeral resource tracking, and cross-platform operations - Extensive knowledge and practical experience with federal compliance frameworks such as FISMA, NIST 800-53, FedRAMP, RMF, NIH policy, and system authorization processes (ATO, POA&M) - Hands-on experience with automation, security event correlation, asset inventory tracking, and SIEM management (preferably in Splunk), utilizing scripting or programming languages such as PowerShell, Bash, Python, or equivalents, including API usage - Bachelors degree in computer science, Cybersecurity, Information Technology, or related field (or equivalent practical experience in Cloud security) - 5+ years of experience in information security, with at least 3 years concentrated on cloud security, along with experience in managing Linux and Windows endpoints, and a strong grasp of network and firewall operations - Excellent written and oral communication skills, with the ability to produce clear security documentation and effectively convey technical concepts to both technical and non-technical audiences - Experience in regulated federal sectors with intricate governance and compliance obligations; ability to collaborate and guide multidisciplinary teams managing servers, workstations, network appliances, and security tools - Certifications: CISSP (or capability to obtain within 6 months)

Responsibilities

- Implement security controls and ensure compliance for cloud environments on AWS, GCP, or Azure in line with FISMA, NIH policies, and federal security standards - Recommend, design, and support the implementation of Cloud security services and controls, including Identity Access, Privileged Access, Vulnerability Management, Configuration Compliance, Encryption, and centralized security log management - Monitor cloud environments for security incidents, anomalies, and configuration variations using SIEM tools (e.g., Splunk), conduct vulnerability assessments, track resolutions, and maintain dashboards with quantifiable metrics to present the overall security status - Integrate and optimize security solutions such as Splunk, Tenable, and other data sources to enhance continuous monitoring, event correlation, and compliance visibility across NLMs hybrid environment - Investigate and respond to security incidents and alerts, perform root-cause analysis and appropriate remediation actions following NIHs established incident response plan - Conduct threat modeling and security assessments of cloud deployments to identify and mitigate vulnerabilities, develop security requirements, and provide guidance for applications transitioning from on-premises to cloud environments - Enhance and automate security and compliance checks using a combination of tools and scripting; evaluate emerging platforms (including AI-based capabilities) to improve coverage, visibility, and operational effectiveness - Provide security guidance, best practices, and compliance support to developers, operations teams, system owners, and other stakeholders, promoting overall security awareness

Futrend Technology Inc. is looking for an IT Cloud Security Analyst to join our security compliance team. In this pivotal role, you will collaborate closely with the customers Information Systems Security Officer (ISSO) to protect NLMs IT infrastructure. Your work will focus on implementing robust security controls, ensuring adherence to federal cybersecurity frameworks, and supporting secure cloud adoption across various platforms. Our team is part of a comprehensive IT program that provides end-to-end support, including help desk, systems, network, incident response, and security services, all aimed at maintaining the availability, integrity, and confidentiality of mission-critical systems. This position is located in Bethesda, MD and requires onsite presence three to five days per week.
