Requirements

Must:
- A high school diploma or equivalent and/or experience in a hotel or related field is necessary. - At least one year of progressive experience in a hotel or a similar environment is preferred. - Trade school and/or college coursework in a related field is advantageous. - Flexibility and the ability to work long hours may be required. - Heavy lifting is involved, which may include exerting more than 100 pounds occasionally, over 50 pounds frequently, and over 20 pounds regularly. - Must effectively communicate verbally and in writing with all levels of staff and guests in a friendly, courteous, and service-oriented manner. - Ability to listen, understand, and clarify concerns raised by employees and guests. - Proficiency in multitasking and prioritizing departmental functions to meet deadlines. - Approach all interactions with guests and employees in a welcoming, friendly, and service-oriented demeanor. - Attendance at all required hotel meetings and training is essential. - Consistent attendance is expected in line with Highgate Hotel Standards, as per scheduling needs. - Adhere to high standards of personal appearance and grooming, which includes wearing the appropriate uniform and name badge. - Compliance with Highgate Hotel Standards and regulations to promote safe and efficient hotel operations. - Focus on productivity, identify problem areas, and assist in implementing solutions. - Proficient in handling problems by anticipating, preventing, identifying, and resolving issues as necessary. - Ability to comprehend and apply complex information and data to meet relevant objectives. - Willingness to cross-train in other hotel-related areas. - Ensure confidentiality of information. - Display initiative by anticipating guest or operational needs. - Perform other duties as assigned by management.

Responsibilities

- I am responsible for making repairs to the hotel’s air conditioning systems, including changing filters, cleaning coils, and replacing motors. - I will conduct preventive maintenance on all equipment, such as boilers, chillers, and (HVAC) heating, ventilation, and air conditioning systems. - I will take required readings on equipment and test cooling towers while recording the necessary readings. - I will replace and program televisions as needed, along with light switches, receptacles, light bulbs, and fixtures. - I will carry out furniture repairs and replace or repair pumps. - I will handle plumbing repairs including clogged drains, copper pipes, and changing washers and handles as necessary. - I should understand and be able to read blueprints and wiring diagrams. - I will trace and repair all types of water lines and troubleshoot and repair kitchen equipment. - I will maintain records for repairs and preventive maintenance. - I will ensure compliance with local, state, and Federal codes in all tasks performed. - I will test, clean, and repair swimming pools and spas. - I will paint designated areas and repair and finish sheetrock, as well as restore all types of wall coverings. - I will also repair and program the hotel’s electronic lock systems.
